It was an immense honor for our CEO, Vivian Quiroga, Esq. to be selected to the Miami Dade College Freedom Tower Centennial Committee. Along with dear friend, MDC President Madeline Pumariega and a distinguished group of community leaders and partners, we vow to help shape the future of one of Miami’s most iconic landmarks Libertad. The story of the Cuban American Refugio will come to life in this ambitious project. Additionally, the Quiroga’s oldest son, Jason the Blue Origin Rocket Scientist, will be inducted later this month as the youngest member of the MDC Alumni Hall of Fame, and they are humbled by the heartfelt congratulations from all present. Particularly, Vivian received personal best wishes from fellow committee member Mike Bezos, father of Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon and Blue Origin. Other congratulations were kindly received from long time friends Emilio Estefan, Cesar Alvarez, Esq. Pepe and Heide Dans, and many others. As a token of our deep appreciation, Jimmy Quiroga (R) Designs will be designing and manufacturing the official Libertad pin, crafted in Sterling Silver, which will be a cherished memento awarded to supporters and donors to this wonderful project.

Jimmy and Vivian are proud alumni and supporters of St. Thomas University having met there first semester freshman year, dating and graduating together. And the rest is history! But STU has grown into a dynamic and fast paced Catholic university leading the way for growth in so many fields of study. A room full of POWERHOUSE women who make a difference every day for so many! A HUGE thank you to MDC President and dear friend Madeline Pumariega for including our CEO Vivian Quiroga in this private Luncheon to support the opening of the new Freedom Tower Libertad. Those of us whose families went to the tower as refugees in the 1960’s were interviewed and photographed for the archives and exhibits. We all gathered together for an exceptional cause, to preserve the historic tower and the Cuban American experience in our Ellis Island of the South.

Fairchild Gala in the Garden Celebrating 30 years last night, the Fairchild Gala in the Garden has been a magical and revered event, named one of South Florida’s most beautiful gatherings. Held to support Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, it’s celebrated as a Top Five Must Attend gala by Miami Magazine. Jimmy Quiroga Designs has partnered as official Jewelry Sponsor for many years. This year was even more extraordinary, supporting their mission on Earth and beyond. And even more so, this year we celebrated our dear friend and client, Swanee DiMare, Honorary Chair and Founder of the Gala in the Garden 30 years ago, on her very special birthday! We had the honor of sitting at Swanee’s Gala Chair table, alongside a Who’s Who of Miami’s Philanthropists!

Last night was a memorable night, which will go down in Miami history! We gathered to launch the site inauguration of the Florida International University CasaCuba building. It will be dedicated to preserving and sharing our Cuban heritage and the huge influence that Cuban Americans have had in this country. Jimmy and Vivian are honored to be CasaCuba Founders and were privileged to present to esteemed FIU President Kenneth Jessel a Jimmy Quiroga®️Designs Vintage Cuban Coin pin. As he said in his speech, he is a “Cubano” at heart, recognizing the indelible power and success of our noble and hardworking Cuban community throughout the US. Also joining us was our dear friend FIU Madam Provost @elizabethbejarchammas (wearing her JQ Vintage Cuban Coin necklace), and many prominent Cuban American celebrities and leaders. Our younger son, Kevin is a first year law student at FIU College of Law, a graduate of the FIU Honors College and a proud founder of the FIU Esports Department.

Miami Dade College President Madeline Pumariega A celebratory lunch today with our friend and client Miami Dade College (MDC) President Madeline Pumariega! It was in honor of our son Jason the rocket scientist, who is a proud alumni of the MDC Honors College. Jason attended the college due to a program called NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars, and the rest is history! Jason is the youngest person to be inducted into the MDC Hall of Fame this coming May! Madeline gave her deepest congratulations to Jason for all of his achievements in Aerospace Engineering and for the amazing launch of the Blue Origin New Glenn rocket last night. Also joining us was Magda Castineyra, current Dean of MDC Honors College. Jimmy and Vivian Quiroga will be part of the Host Committee for the MDC Freedom Tower Museum project. We are eternally grateful!
